Pillar Legal Advises Perfect World in US$125 Million Sale of Perfect World Entertainment
Pillar Legal represented Perfect World Co., Ltd (“Perfect World”), a leading videogame company in China, in connection with the sale of Perfect World Publishing B.V. and Perfect World North America Corporation (including its subsidiaries) to Embracer Group AB (“Embracer”) for US$60 million in cash and US$65 million in B shares of Embracer stock for a total purchase price of US$125 million.

Pillar Legal supported Perfect World in negotiating the main transaction documents, closing the deal in February 2022, and filing anti-trust documents with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

Pillar Legal Advises Voilà in US$6 Million Series A Financing
Pillar Legal advised Voilà, an AI-driven social commerce company, in connection with its US$6 million Series A funding. This Series A round was led by Sinovation Ventures and joined by FOSUN Rz Capital. Pillar Legal Advises Kabam on US$350 Million Investment into Jam City
Pillar Legal represented Kabam, Inc (“Kabam”), a world leading mobile game developer, on its co-leading investment for Jam City Inc. (“Jam City”), which generated US$350 million in equity and debt funding for Jam City. Other investors of this financing round included affiliates of funds managed by Fortress Investment Group. Pillar Legal represented Lingokids, a “playlearning” Edtech company based in Madrid, Spain, in connection with its US$40 million Series C funding. The Lingokids application is used by over 30 million families around the world to improve literacy and STEM skills through play. Pillar Legal represented Ignatica Ltd, a Hong Kong based “insurtech” company offering digital solutions for insurers to launch and build new insurance products at lower costs, in connection with its US$7 million Pre-Series A financing. This Pre-Series A round was led by Ling Feng Capital and joined by SOSV, Artesian and AFG Fund.
